Body of missing Los Alamos nuclear lab worker found with gun in national forest — one of four disappearances linked to US defense programs

Melissa Casias, 54, an administrative assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory, was found dead in Carson National Forest nearly a year after vanishing. She wiped her phones before leaving them and her ID behind. A handgun was found alongside her body. She is one of four people who have gone missing or died with links to US defense and nuclear programs in recent years, including a retired Air Force major general who headed AFRL at Wright-Patterson.
